What Makes Me Qualified to Write About This Stuff?

I've been working with kids for over a decade!
​
I spent my college years managing a community center for kids ages 1-16 at a low-income housing facility.
​
I was an Early Childhood Educator for over 4 years. I've also spent time teaching little ones soccer through Soccer Shots and even how to build toys with Engineering for Kids.
​
Currently, I work in the nonprofit industry but spend much of my free time babysitting, nannying, and reading up on the latest studies in childhood development (call me nerdy, but I love research).
Why Did You Make This Site?

I’ve had the privilege of working with and learning from kids— a privilege that many people aren’t granted before becoming first-time parents.

My nonlinear path has enhanced my creativity and resourcefulness. It's also made me more mindful of the earth's beauty and the interactions we foster with kids.

I created this site specifically to share my experiences connecting with kids and caregivers. I also recognize the time strain and mental load that comes with taking care of little ones. To save you time, I try to put together thoroughly researched blog articles and resources.

I'm a huge advocate of play-based learning and proud to say that I am a Certified Play Expert! As a Play Expert, I am well versed in the science behind play and early childhood development. I happen to have more toy industry knowledge most people. Sound lame? Oh, well- it's made me a great gift giver!
